I know some people will hate on it, but im pumped with my new computer. This thing is a BEAST. Please dont bring the hate into this thread, constructive comments only. And yes it was expensive, but no you can not find the same/better parts for much cheaper. Im down to only Mac's now, my Mac Pro and my iBook. I will probably give my PC away once i figure out why it died on Saturday.

* Processor 065-7536 Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
* Memory 065-7175 2GB (2x1GB)
* Graphics Card 065-7537 ATI 2600XT
* Hard Drive Bay1 065-7189 320GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb
* Optical Drive 065-7203 One 16x SuperDrive
* Wireless Option 065-7206 AirPort Extreme Card (Wi-Fi)
* Mouse from AOS 065-7693 APPLE MIGHTY MOUSE
* Mac OS Language for AOS 065-7707 WIRED KYBRD/MAC OS X

I originally ordered one with the nVidia 8800GT but that bumped the wait time to 3-5 weeks. So i canceled that order and bought the standard model, I then ordered the 8800GT 512mb separately. The GPU will be delivered around the end of the month. I am also ordering 8gb 800 memory in the next week, bumping it up to 10gb total. I will probably end up ordering 1 or 2 more HDD when i get a chance, right now all i have is the 320gb 3gb and my 10,000 raptor(plus external).

Now I just need to decide if i want to go with dual 20" LCDs or 1 24" and possibly getting another 24" in a couple months.

Let me know if you want any pics.

Dave

EDIT: this thing is whisper quiet, cant even hear it unless the HDD is reading/writing.

lol Macs

Just kidding, nice specs and all, put Windows on that thing and you'll be set.

I'd also get a new keyboard/mouse if you're going to game.

Also I'd go for the dual monitors, having two is really nice, makes it so much easier to be able to see vent/winamp/whatever on the other screen while you're running a game on the main screen.

Thats my thinking Chris, I really wanna go dual monitor set up but Im thinking 20" is too small. I didnt even unwrap the mouse (its crap) however I am giving the keyboard a try. I dont like crazy button keyboards and the Mac one is quite small and clean.

I plan on installing XP tonight when I get home from work.

I might cave and get a new mac pro to replace my old PC when the time comes. They just need to have some better (more) video options.

I don't think they do SLI though do they?

WAIT!!

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WAIT!

Never buy Apple products so close to an Apple event. There is no doubt in my mind they will at least upgrade the mac books with some newer hardware.

Specs on the Mac Book I'm looking at (I'm waiting on Macworld though)

Processor: 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4MB shared L2 cache
Memory: 2GB (2x1GB SODIMMs) RAM
Hard Drive: 120GB Serial ATA 5400rpm
Optical Drive: 8x double-layer SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVDRW/CD-RW)
Graphics: Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor with 144MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory
Wireless: Built-in 54 Mbps AirPort Extreme (802.11n)

Price: $1,399 w/ 3 year AppleCare protection plan

IMO, its a hell of a deal from my school... its only really lacking a good video card but I dont plan on doing much gaming on it
