Firefly ('02-'03) the series and Serenity ('05) the movie, tell a story about a ship named 'Serenity' and its travels in this sci-fi space exploration series (one season only :>.<: ) about an interesting future (more probable than the Star Treks). I bring it up since it kinda-sorta came up due to the Sarah Conner Chronicles; the actress playing the terminator in the Chronicles (Summer Glau) plays a crazy sister of a doctor in Firefly/Serenity. From watching all of the series and the movie and from what little i saw of the Chronicles, Summer is one hell of an actress...but anyways, anyone aside from King_Dude take an interest in either the movie or series...and if so, your thoughts?

yea there have been posts on both the show and the movie in the past.
I own the box set and the movie.
I actually just watched Serenity (for the umpteenth time) on Sunday again.
Im a huge fan of it all....and anything Joss Whedon does in general

What makes me mad is that it could have been a huge franchise if Fox didnt f*ck it all up, playing all the Firefly episodes out of order so nobody knew what the f*ck was going on.

I hope you like it

There was a marathon (also with the episodes somewhat outa place) on Sci-Fi recently that hooked me into it to the point where i immediatley sprung for the box set, and later the movie. Sorry if this post was kinda a repeat, but since i wasnt around is '03,...yeah, was just curious. So to clarify, yes i do love it.

What i can't stand is Fox (much like you, Pizzack). It seems they really did screw the series over, which i kinda go along with Shadow in that the movie seemed better than the series, but im thinkin the only reason that the movie seemed so great to me was probably b/c i had seen the series beforehand (Ex: when the parliment rep. approaches Inara in that small cutscene and you see the expression change on her face...you just wouldnt have the same reaction if you hadn't seen the series). Anywho, I'm really hoping it pulls a return outa Fox's ass since it seems like a much more realistic futuristic series than the Star Treks...probably due to a larger budget...which is probably why they canceled it (too expensive and not enough veiwers...which is kinda silly given its extreme fan base).

I have have herd rumors of a mini-series, but that was a while ago. But Dark Horse is making a comic book series, written by Josh Whedon.
