after playing CS:S for about 45 minutes... i get this message after the game crashes on me
this happens all the time but can be fixed with a system reboot (although it persists and comes back within like 15 minutes of playing)
Also... this is really freaking me out... this happens normally after i get that message:
yea... all those flashy colored boxes are NOT GOOD...
and yes i have GOOGLE'd it up and all the results that have turned out are not very helpful

when it's the memory on the video card, you usually get corruption (wierd lines and sh*t) what is happening for you is almost certainly the GPU itself
my suggestions:
a) dl a copy of hwmonitor and keep an eye on the temperature of your card
b) underclock your GPU (you should be able to do it from Catalyst Control Panel) to a slower speed to reduce heat
c) as a long shot, what power supply do you have? check that your power supply is providing enough power

That looks like a heat related issue, but it has shown up on computers where they use a sub standard power supply that powers the videocard but has ALOT of dips in clean power. This wont kill the videocard/components outright, but will do permanent damage over time. Especially to the harddrive and memory, as these arent as shielded against power sags as well as other components.
This ladies and gentlemen is why you do not skimp on computer equipment, clean it on a monthly basis, make sure it runs cool, and it is sufficiently powered. Yes you may not have alot of money, but it costs you far more in the long run screwing yourself over than if you saved and did it the right way.
P.S. go die in a fire of aids asian, god hates your country

well, the 9800Pro did die from a heat-related issue, as the cooling fan failed during a marathon Diablo 2 session. I replaced it with a Zalman unit but it was too little too late. It would still operate in 2D just fine but 3D apps made it look like his screenie.
Money is easy to make. It's just hard to keep the Secret Service from catching you for doing it.
