Ive never updated the drivers or firmware since Ive had this mouse. Last night I figured it was a good time to do this.

It recommends you uninstall the old drivers before installing the new ones. So, I went to cp > add /remove programs and removed it, restarted, etc, mouse was still working. I installed the new driver and the mouse would not move. My lights on the mouse were working, but the mouse was not moving. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it could not detect the mouse. I did this a few more times and had the same thing happen.

Would I have to update the firmware after installing the drivers in order to get the mouse to work? It warns that if the driver is not installed properly flashing the firmware could permanently bust your mouse and I dont really want to take that risk yet. Tech support is slow, so figure Id ask here. I think this mouse is more hassle then its worth sometimes.

when u add/remove programs it doesnt remove the drivers, it removes the software that comes with the drivers. go to your device manager, uninstall or rollback your drivers under the "mouse and other pointing devices"

i gotta diamondback, no need for updated drivers/firmware for me really as screwing around w/the settings isn't to important. what firmware update did you use? should be the 6.20.

next time, before you install a device driver, it takes 2 secs to set a system restore point incase you do encounter an issue. alotta drivers even recommend this. hope it works out.

It seems as of a few weeks ago, my mouse has been giving me more problems. I cant move as smooth as I used to, especially in source. Works better on the table than the mousepad, but the mousepad is more comfortable for my wrist. After a random reboot (not mouse related) some awful screeching sounds were coming from inside the computer and my comp wouldnt boot. When I moved my mouse, the sounds got worse. Thats when I tried everything in the first post and restored. It was late, so I didnt have a lot of time to mess around with it.

I did some more knowledgebase searching this morning and it still suggests that to reinstall the drivers I should be uninstalling the razer program from control panel. I also found some new info that says I should be deleting registry keys also, which I was not doing.

I currently have Driver v6.08 and Firmware v6.18.

I am hoping that updating the driver and firmware would resolve this issue with my mouse. I know the firmware contains the usb driver also so it could be that? Ive already had to send the copperhead back once because the right click button stopped working.

Ill try going into device manager and uninstalling the driver, wulf. The download they have available for the copperhead atm is driver v6.10 and firmware v6.19. Thanks for the help.

Works better on the table than the mousepad

You clean the plastic tabs on the bottom of the mouse that get built up with dirt and sh*t right? also if you have a soft mouse pad thats full of years of dead skin, dried cum, and spilled energy drinks you may want to buy a new one.

Kind of embarrassed to admit this but the mouse pad Im using has probably been in use for the past eight years, haha. Used only by me in a pretty serious gaming capacity for at least three four.

Suggestions for decent gaming pads? I was thinking of stopping at bestbuy but after checking the site their selection seems quite lame.
