as of late my current PC has been fucking UP, PSU/Mobo nearing the end of their life, so I'm getting a new PC.

CPU: Whatever the best AM3 is in the coming weeks.
Motherboard: ASUS M4A79T Deluxe AM3 DDR3 AMD 790FX (Quad Crossfire Board for down the road upgrades  )
GPU: Sapphire 4890 1gb
RAM: 4GB Corsair 2x2gb DDR3 1600 9-9-9-24 (will overclock to 7-7-7-22 or so)
PSU: Corsair 620HX
Case: Antec P182
Heatsink: Coolermaster v8 with a Yate Loon D12SH-12
HD: Porting my old Raptor 150gb as OS drive, got two new 1tb 7200RPM WD Black editions (thought of the green first, but meh, same price)

Feel free to make suggestions for Case / Heatsink, but fuck you if you think I'm going Intel/Nvidia.

The green drives only spin at 5400 RPM when it doesn't need full speed, and on anything intensive it ramps up to 7200 RPM. Honestly, I haven't noticed a difference in speed between my 500 GB and my 1TB Green drive. Just saying as the Green Drives can save you some power consumption and heat.

When I placed the order, the Black and Green editions were both a flat $100, I know what you mean, after a while I will be buying two more 1tb drives (green w/ Network storage enclosure), but really there is a difference in read/write speeds that is pretty large.

Heatsink: Coolermaster v8

& you thought my heatsink looked ridic.. lol

case looks good for cooling and the 7 internal 3.5" bays are sweet but honestly don't like the way it looks. the red trim just looks ugly imo. the midtower armor+ is 10bucks more, looks better, and i know for a fact how good the wire management is having the full (only difference is its shorter w/o as many bays.

Nice build its about time you retired that 939 system!!The new AMD's are nice with ddr3 and a 4870 you'll be in heaven.I recently built a i7 rig with a 9800gtx but im going to swap that out for 2 4850's 1gig some time soon.So did you order already cause i think you should defiantly beef up the power supply if you plan on having more than 1video card.

I am planing to upgrade to a very similar setup, using this case. It depends on what looks nice but ventilation is important and this case is pretty nice but it's a mid tower so not the biggest. Antec is a very nice brand for this stuff.

sorry but the case *MUST* have a side mount HD rack, Highend GPU's are roughly 9-10.5" long and the HD power cables will wind up touching the GPU.

that and for some reason I'm really fond of Intel's old failed BTX attempt with the bottom PSU mount, shit just works.

Estimated price is 1200-1250 for everything if I buy now, I'll wind up saving 50USD or so on the 4870 when the 4890 hits market within the first week of April, thus I'm waiting now for the CPU/GPU/Motherboard/Case, everything else has already been ordered.

What I've bought so far...

Corsair 620HX, $139 with 30 off when combo deal with one of the HD's.
Two 1TB WD Caviar Black's, 99.99 each
6x Yate Loon 120mm x 25mm Fan (D12SH-12), 6.99 each
Cooler Master V8, 69.99
Arctic Silver 5, 7.99 (god damn me for not being able to find my other tube)

with everything I listed above, minus 55 from mail in rebates.

Ok, bad time to upgrade PC build, I am going to wait until April 20-25th for when AMD release the AM3 X4 925, 945, and 955 variants *full AM3 Support* instead of the currently epicfail setups they have now, Its more logical + I'll be able to utilize that DDR3 better.
