i got a radeon 9800 pro in august last year, along with my 1st pc. so im new to computers. how long will my 9800 pro last and still be top notch graphics? cause doom 3 and hl2 run great on it and most games coming out like duke nukem will run on the doom 3 engine anyways so do i have a good 3 years or so before i need another?

i am still pretty happy with my 9700pro. I think that that one should last you i bit longer. even with their xVu### series out it still can handle the load. But im no expert on this stuff so wait for some others to answer.

Wait until the NVIDIA 7XXX series come out. And the dual core CPUs are standard. You don't need to upgrade yet. :9:

what pisses me off is i bought my 9800pro for 432 with tax and shipping in august and now its down to 159 not counting shipping and tax. that makes it sound outdated. but i have all my games on the highest settings. i can run doom3 on 2200x1600 no problems. and right now i got bf2 on 1600x1200, which supposily isnt supported.
