I decided to look for a sound card, got the SB Xi fi titanium for a pci X 1 slot... what a f*ckin difference from onboard sound. I hear sh*t in all the games I play that I didnt hear before... :P Got it for $100 on amazon new. Yay for good sound!
Got the same thing nearly 2 years ago. Yeah, the sound quality is nice, but the drivers are such SHIT that I haven't used the damn thing in a year and a half. It was a huge waste of $100 back in the day. Creative can't make drivers to save their life. The card throws a fit every time it's not the only sound device, so I can't use my USB headset, with its own sound card, with it.
I should have just bought a good Turtle Beach...

Ive heard that the digitial side of the card sucks but the analog side is pretty good, so far ive havd no issues, this thing is wonderful with my setup. Course im using a regular head set, nothing usb.
It's not the USB that's the problem, it's the fact that the USB headset has its own sound card built in, and the SB is a territorial whore that never got its driver update to play nice with other sound cards.
