Got the same thing nearly 2 years ago. Yeah, the sound quality is nice, but the drivers are such SHIT that I haven't used the damn thing in a year and a half. It was a huge waste of $100 back in the day. Creative can't make drivers to save their life. The card throws a fit every time it's not the only sound device, so I can't use my USB headset, with its own sound card, with it.

I should have just bought a good Turtle Beach...

yeah I hear that zeke, the current X-FI titanium I have is horrible and I keep running into such random issues with sound crackling and whatnot, if I can't figure it out in a week or two I'll just use something else because it's really annoying having to change from one mode to the next, then swap back just to make the crackling sounds fuckoff.

Ive heard that the digitial side of the card sucks but the analog side is pretty good, so far ive havd no issues, this thing is wonderful with my setup. Course im using a regular head set, nothing usb.

yeah it's great until you realize how bad the drivers are, then you want to smash the fucking thing with a hammer.

Almost any sound card is a huge improvement over over-board. On-board graphics, sound and network blow donkey dick. Thats my story and i am sticking with it!!!

It's not the USB that's the problem, it's the fact that the USB headset has its own sound card built in, and the SB is a territorial whore that never got its driver update to play nice with other sound cards.
