So there i was with my model 1911 commando 45 from springfield. I had a wilson combat match trigger and a wilson hammer.. i got the bright idea to install them. First of all it was fairly easy to take apart, until i realized i didnt pay attention to how it came apart..... then i had to dig up a armorers manual, then install the new stuff, then get that sh*t to work, in the end it took me f*cking forever like 5 hours, so here is sit after 5 hours dead tired, hands cut to hell, BUT GOD DAMN IT I GOT IT WORKING..... looks pretty good too after the extras :) least something good came about... heres hoping when i pull the trigger at the range it doesnt go BOOOOM.... lol that wont happen... :|

Lol, hell of a story brotha. I always jump into sh*t that I know little
about. It's the best way to learn new things. I bet next time
you'll write down what pieces went where haha, and at least
you got it working. In the end, you prevailed...and that's all that
really matters :9:.

I agree man, i learned how that entire gun was designed and how it operates, very simple and easy to replace items, i was impressed with the whole desgin after the hell i went through lol :P The funny thing is they way they made the whole trigger group and due to it being seperate from the upper reciever you cant really mess it up even if you want to. the trigger just sits in the well of the gun and pushes a small lever which releases the hammer, it so simple compared to other weapons ive seen, no wierd springs or odd parts. On the good side too you shoulda seen the gunk that can get into that area of the gun, its a must for cleaning it like once a year or so. Overall it sucked taking all that aprat but i learned a sh*t load about 1911's in general.

And ive done armors work on M16's and M249's, im not afraid to work on a gun, afterall it was built by another person. Hell.. its GI proof anyway... :P

You're surprised that a gun design with just shy of 100 years of military action is simple?

1) You're comparing a belt fed, .50 BMG machine gun to a .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol. Apples and oranges man.

2) It's actually younger then the 1911. The 1911 actually saw action in WWI.

Lol, I'd like to see some pictures too. Would be pretty cool to see the gun.
Also, make sure to zoom in on the hammer and trigger that you installed.

Ill get a pic up soon, i had one of the screws that held the grip on strip itself after puting a coule hundred rounds through it, unfortunatly it screwed into the frame so there was two options, one buy a oversided screw kit, or two use the best loctite you can buy. Locktite worked great. Also got a local gunshow coming up, gonna get a better grip saftey and hammer for it.
