I upgraded to some 6970's (havent got them yet) but im gonna sell my 5870's. $200 a piece. Thats half of what i paid for um. If anyone is intrested email meh. They are in uber mint condition, cause i use air filters so they were not abused, never overclocked for gaming, left it on stock. I did manualy turn up the fans to 50% per shadows advice, made a difference on temps. They are uber good cards and i have the transferable warrarnty. Let me know within the week im gonna put them on ebay otherwise.

pretty minute upgrade considering the fact that the 6970's at best 15% faster, however you do get better crossfire scaling in games that do utilize it.

personally I'd of went with 6950 2gb's and unlocked them.

Yeh i saw about the 6950's but I went with the 6970's from xfx, i really liked the fact that the 5870s from xfx had really nice back plates were as most others did not, same for 6970's. I paid $50 less on each card than i did last time for the 5870s, $350 a piece. I did want these for the better scaling and the more solid cards, 5870s in crossfire had issues with certain games for me, like BFBC 2. Alone the 5870 is great, its when you crossfire them they go kinda stuipd on you. Up until the 10.5 drivers ive had some weird issues with dx11 games, its like the cards would stutter in crossfire in the newer games, realllly anoying. It had something to do with the scaling, not sure though.

that's funny I had less issues when I had my xFire 5870s than I do running my single 5870. I ended up selling my two 6970s a while back, before the unlocked 6950s where popular. I've come to realize though, all I play is Source and Minecraft and 1 5870 is more than enough. Sadly nothing has made me want to buy new video cards lately, so I just buy new mobo's, processors, ram and SSDs :)

The SSD i bought was so great for load times, made shit fly at light speed. I do play the new AVP and BFBC2 some heavy dx11 games, the crossfire makes a difference for me.
