BF3 is a recycled game. There's nothing new here other then how the game is handled out of game. The only thing new are some weapons and vehicles. The gameplay is the same as it's been since BF2, just with a bit of Bad Company 2 thrown in. Trust me on this, unless the alpha was a complete lie of the entire game to be.

The gameplay should be similar, it's a sequel that's not what makes it recycled. It has a different engine, a new story mode, coop mode and then that combined with the new weapons/vehicles/new gamemodes/maps and other small changes makes a new game. The COD games have just been using the same engine with small updates to it(same shit CS:GO is doing) CS:GO is even more recycled than the COD games. This is even worse than Left 4 Dead 1 --> 2. Would be good as an expansion maybe, I wonder what they are going to price this as?

Story mode that BC1 and 2 had, Co-Op that BC2 had. Even shitty ass CoD Games do all that you listed, just on the same engine. They add new weapons/game modes/maps, make small changes, add a new story campaign with co-op. So by your definition it's only recycled if it's on the same engine.

I'm not defending CS:GO, I really don't care about it, but to say that BF3 isn't a recycled game because it has a new story and engine is asinine. The gameplay is all the same. You can take a car and give it a better engine, and a new paint job, but it's still wont be a new car.

Also, Shazam. I don't even know who the fuck you are and let's keep it that way. You sound like a fag.

It's not just the engine that makes it new to me it's all the things coming together. The only thing you can argue that isn't new is the gameplay but even that is going to be somewhat different when all the smaller changes like suppression fire, flashlights blinding you, scope glint and other things like that. You say the gameplay hasn't changed from BF2 but being able to destroy walls and buildings alone has a very significant change on gameplay.

Have to agree with ahkmed on that one. The new technology alone will hopefully make people play the game differently. Even if it is the same, though, I'll probably play the shit out of it because I personally loved the formula for BF2

too bad BF3 is going to be total shit due to their knockoff of Steam which I honestly cant be fucked typing, aside from that BF series gets old very fast due to lack of community support (no mods, etc).

honestly though I wont judge anything Valve releases til its out and playable, although looking at some of the videos it does seem like it could be fun, especially if they make sure shooting-through-walls works properly which will fuck camping up really well.

agreed. in my opinion. the words that stuck out over and over in the video were "minor adjustments. few things changed. familiar feel"... he even went as far to say nothings been changed on a few maps. if u enjoy cs, witch we apparently do, seeing as were on this site and in the servers, whats with all the negative judging. over so many years of complaining, they're finally fixing all the glitches and bugs that piss u off when u play and trying to make things run smoother. (such as hit detection). the over all feel of the game will seem more complete. but all the mechanics will be the the same. i don't see the problem. and an old engine so what!? if its not broke don't fix it. Ive played counter strike longer than any other game i can remember....here's the part where they can fuck off tho. i'm not paying $59.99 for a game that should be 10 bucks or fuckin free. theres a huge cs community and support system like shadow said. but if they want my money. from the looks of it, that game better suck and fuck me for 60 bucks.

price hasn't been discussed at all, but I'm fairly certain it wont be more than 30$ if going by Valves track record, maybe less if we're lucky.

however... fuck EA, as I said before with community support for mods and everything else, that is what makes counterstrike great. BF3 will not have mod support, which in turn means no custom maps, no anything. and with punkbuster you won't even be able to skin models. after a couple of months Battlefield 3 will have a bunch of DLC's coming out and then guess what, new Battlefield 3: Super Extended Special Forces Vietnam Wake Island edition gets announced and then oh look "No more patches or support" for the game you bought. fuck everything about that.

The lack of mods doesn't bother me to much but the guys attitude about it makes him seem like a real asshole.

“It’s going to be very difficult for people to mod the game, because of the nature of the set up of levels, of the destruction and all those things… it’s quite tricky. So we think it’s going to be too big of a challenge for people to make a mod.”

Can't believe BF3 won't have mod support... fuck that noise. And the stupid bit about its menus and shit being browsers? Even more fucking retarded crap. EA is trying to be king dickery in the gaming world it seems. Guess they can't stand Activision having the title.
