Ok, so i was reading people's posts about dedicated member status and all that, and I realised that people that have dedicated member status, have no real incentive for more posting. Since they are already known in the community, and they already have ventrilo.

So i figured, what if there was a monthly post qouta to be met to keep your dedicated member status (much like honour and rank in WoW ). that way, only regular users of the forum (the main 'community' aspect of BoSS), would be considered dedicated to the community, and as such, would be the only ones granted privilages such as ventrilo.

Then i realised that there are some Admins who I see ingame, but never on the forums regularly. Now I realise that there is a need to pay for the servers through admin donations, but there are plenty of active members who would (im sure) gladly take their place.

I'm fairly new to BoSS myself, so excuse me if i'm speaking out of turn, but i'm just trying to expand other people's ideas.

Yes, but, being an admin is a big responsibility. Shadow can't just give everyone admin, he has to trust them. And anyone can spam on a monthly basis easily, but not everyone can be a quality admin.

You're saying that people who spam the forums with useless sh*t should be admins, and people who pay $180 / year should get nothing?

You don't necessarily have to post 100 times to get dedicated member status, that's up to shadow.

How many f*cking times do we have to go over this? BoSS is not a clan. People come and go as they please. Why do you care if someone doesn't post in the forums once they get ventrilo anyways? There are a lot of people (like doc seuss, etc) that rarely post in the forums, but are in ventrilo all the time. As long as people read enough of the forums to know what's going on, what's the difference? All of your posts so far, Tury, have been about the "Rules" and "Etiquette" of the forums and servers.

BoSS is a dictatorship where Shadow makes and changes the rules. If you can't help to complain about the way he runs things around here, I suggest you PM him and see how he f*cking feels about it.

yea i mean there comes a point where you cant just post on things that dont pertain to you, unless you wanna start a post to bring something to everyone's attention, so to say you have to meeta certai n requirement is ridiculous. nobody likes random spam. i think that if yer here long enough ppl will know who you are. so setting a limit wouldnt make much sense. and monster is right, there are pleanty odf 'dedicated' members who dont always post. maybe they just have nothing to say ohter than talk to the ppl on ventrillo. i dont see a prob. with that.

I have no problem with the way shadow runs things around here, so please don't try to implicate such things.

You are right, this isn't a clan, this is a community, where people are supposed to interact on a social level in regard to a common hobby - gaming. This doesn't happen if people never post or communicate outside of the cs:s client.

The ventrilo thing was an idea, that's all. surely that's what this forum is for?

u can add weels into tat list soon cuz of college but over summer i will BE ACTIVE WITH CS unless i have a big job. and i will try to make time in my schedule to post on boss and to check for updates etc. ^_^ kitty

I see where you are going with this, but as time goes by, more and more people will come and go. Alot of people just don't have much to say on the forums, but rather keep up the chat in Vent. or the servers. They also might not have time to do so and just want to play the game.

Exactly, or as Weels said, school. Once school starts I have no time with my computer except for on the weekends. So how will I be spending it? Will I be posting each day? f*ck no! I'm gonna be fragging it up in one of my many games.

If you want admin, donate. simple as that.
You're a dedicated member so you've been here a little while atleast, then donate.
We're not going to just give admin to dedicated members.
Those admins arn't on the forums much because they're out keeping the server clean.
