the x850 is better than any nvidia card... except for the 7800 GTX... which you dont have... so the x850 is better..

exactly...the 7800gtx will be my next card...

yeah but since my comp has an intel, it lasts hella longer, plus that nvidia pwns that ati x800 XD the x850 isnt even 16x express lane, nvidias in the lead right now

All of the sudden "lasting longer" makes your computer better? Exactly how does your computer last longer anyways? You're a f*cking retard if I ever saw one.

And, by the way, my x850 xt pe box says it has "16 parralell pixel pipelines". Why wouldn't it? Tool.

So, to put your argument to further shame, let's compare ati and amd with your garbage intel and nvidia hardware. NOW: Let's put the hardware into the context of gaming, and not "lasting longer" or whatever gay sh*t you use yours for.

*Just for a reference, go to www.tomshardware.com and look at the VGA charts, and the CPU charts. They compare all kinds of pci and vga cards, and all sorts of cpus.

ATI x850xt pe pwns nvidia all over the place in dx games. Sure, your nvidia card might hold up playing doom 3 or riddick.... if you like playing doom 3 and riddick.... lol But in the half life 2 tests (ie... counterstrike), ATI cards pwned all teh nvidia out of the water. Except when used in SLI of course.

And then run over to the cpu charts. I compared your "long lasting" intel 3.4ghz to my measly amd 2.2ghz. Guess what? You lost. I tried a few benchmarks just to see.... you're proc doesn't even come close. I beat that proc in farcry, wolfensten, doom 3, and unreal tournament 2004.

So back again to your old statement, "I got dibs on best computer" or something like that....

Like I said, you have some cool parts, but you're not the top dog, and you should go suicide if you think you are.... because someone else is always bigger than you. I don't have the best parts in my computer, and it's still better than yours.

Please don't post garbage in this forum if you have nothing to back it up noob.

noob, i been here way b4 u so just stfu, this intel and nvidia never gets viruses, and it never has any problems of any kind, where ur amd always has some bsod or some gay ass error that i got tired of seeing for the millionth time, and after seeing those errors and comp crashes one after another, u shud try intel and nvidia, sure it doesnt perform the best all the time, but hell i get no errors and it lasts waaaay longer, where amd and ati always try to have there stuff perform at its tops and then after a while of hard core gaming, gives u bunch of errors that bug the hell out of u while ur gaming

intel last half as long actually because they overheat and shed years off its all in the manual book if you read it. Same happens to AMD as well but they are better cooled.

AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Barton OCed
MSI KT880 Delta
1 GB DDR 400 PC3200
ATI 9800 Pro 128 MB
SoundBlaster Live 5.1
19" Cicero Flatscreen
120 GB Western Digital
60 GB Western Digital

I could give a f*ck if you've been here longer than me. You can't even find the f*cking period on your keyboard. Don't call me a noob, I am the one who knows what I am talking about. You, on the other hand, are a 12 year old virgin who tries to tell us that his mommy and daddy bought him a better computer than everyone else, and mommy and daddy are never wrong.

Your only comeback is that "this intel and nvidia never gets viruses". If you had any remote f*cking clue as to what a virus is, you would retract your statement and go suicide.

Google this "define:virus":
"Self-replicating, malicious code that attaches itself to an application program or other executable system component and leaves no obvious signs of its presence."

I didn't see anything in there about hardware, did you? A virus is code, software if you will. If you are dumb enough to think that intel and nvidia are blocking viruses... well...

You got bsod errors and the like because you a f*ckup noob that doesn't know how to keep his computer clean of gay porno. I hope that you can come up with some reply to this, because you are wrong, wrong, wrong.

Oh by the way, I am not saying that nvidia and intel are not good components. I am just saying that amd and ati are better at gaming. Period.

Get f*cked.

EDIT: Oh, by the way, go here if you want to REALLY compare Intel and AMD in gaming context.

Hell, want to compare nvidia to ati while you're over at extremetech.com? Try this Half Life 2 comparison:

Being that it looks as though you have an AGP slot from your specs...the best card would be an ATI X850XT PE. Here is a link to one of the nicer X850XT PE's I've seen....but that is if you want to spend that much money on it

Im gonna have to agree with monster on this one. Amd does make the better processor. The comparisons really do prove it. But with video cards i am on the line. I could go with nvidia or ati. They both make good cards really. I've only had one ati card and it was a pretty good card. The nvidias i have had and that i have now are good too. You cant really rely too much on the tests sites run to find the better card. Because different games were made for different cards. In the future i would go with either. Its a competition between the two companies. Neither are gonna let the other rule the market for too long. If one puts out a faster card the other will have one out in a couple of months. Really it just depends on personal preference. I would choose either because i have used both brands.

the x1800 is ati's new card. deathblooms showed me this one. its looking good. at newegg you can see it compared to the 7800gtx and the x850pe. so to answer your question the zti x1800 is the best card out now. but theyre going to keep going back and forth every 3 months or so.

Yeah, it's a toss up, like you said. It depends on what type of games you play. ATI runs dx9 games (hl2, cs:s, and most others) better than nvidia. But, if you play doom3 or others that use OpenGL, Nvidia cleans house. Really, who plays doom3?

Of course, to be fair, there is not a really huge difference between, say, an x850 xt pe and the best 6800 gt out there. One might be 5 - 10 frames faster than the other... big deal.

And, yeah, the 7800 gtx wipes the floor with x850xt's, cause they aren't comparable. But the new x1800's are sweet. Oh, but two 7800's in sli are better.... yeah, but two x1800's in crossfire are better than those... so.....

What this means, like everyone except second shadow has said, is that it is based on what games you play, and your budget (I'd trade in my x850xt pe for a 7800 at par any day).

Personally, I would buy and ATI hands down, unless i got a really awsome deal on an nvidia card. Like a 7800 gtx for the same price as my x850 xt pe.

That's just me. Oh, by the way, the amd vs intel argument isn't even close. The cpu charts show that lower clocked amd's are keeping up with intel's that are clocked like, 1 ghz more. Clock speed is only 1 factor in how fast a processor is.

EDIT:

For those of you that liked the game F.E.A.R. and are thinking of getting a new video card, consider this:

i let my two suitemates borrow doom3. so they been playing that. made me want to, but ive beat doom3 3 times, so i beat the expansion for a second time last week. i like that game. im not going to argue, its not the best but its fun running down some zombies with that shotgun. i just thought id say i play doom 3, probably the only. but yeah, this thread shows ati with amd will be my next set up.
