ok i just noticed that the chart said hexus.net. Anyways its a bullsh*t chart. I turned everything all the way up and was getting 30-40 fps at 1280 x 1024 and i cant imagine a 7800 doing worse than that. I'm using a 6800gt. I know the new ati card is gonna be better than the 7800 but that chart is f*cking obsurd. What did they test the 7800 on a pc with a pentium 2 and 64mb of ram.

I used fraps to find my fps by the way. The same program the makers of the chart used.

I'm not biased towards Nvidia. I could go either way when it comes to video cards. Both companies release great video cards that trump each other every f*cking 3 months. So relying on what somebody says in a forum is insane. If I was about to shell out 400 to 700 dollars on a video card I would be checking out non-biased sites like tomshardware.com to find out who has the best card at that particular moment. A site where they test the two leading cards against each other in several different games at several different settings with the same exact hardware in the two systems. That is the only way to prove one is better than the other.

Yeah I had everything set to the max. Even the physics.

Ok here is a good comparison test. In most of the benchmarks ati does beat nvidia. In doom 3 nvidia actually comes out ahead. Just read the article below.
http://graphics.toms...ed_land-16.html

Seeing this test and running my own, is making it hard for me to believe that the hexon.net test is actually true. I mean with the scores they posted the game would be unplayable. And the only thing that is different about the two cards is that The x1800 has a faster core speed. So you wouldn't see that much of a performance gap.

But anyways i don't even give a sh*t. Why am I still posting about this. I'm so poor right now i couldn't afford either of the cards.

Being that it looks as though you have an AGP slot from your specs...the best card would be an ATI X850XT PE. Here is a link to one of the nicer X850XT PE's I've seen....but that is if you want to spend that much money on it

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814102502

alright well alot of people say that the radeon x1800xt or radeon x1800xl owns so what is better the one that you
linked me to or this one???? :wtf:

The best thing for you to do is to make sure you get an AGP and not a PCI-Express. Yes that is a better card, but I'm not sure if they make an AGP of that. What you need to look at is the core clock speed and the memory clock speed.....basically the higher the better. The only X1800xl I have seen is PCI-E, but if you find one that is AGP....go for it.
