Actually those kids are emo. And the music is too. Emo started way back in the day. Sometime in the 80s and basically some punk kids got tired of writing really senseless songs. So they took the regular 3 chord punk and made it more melodic. They changed the subject matter of the songs too. Instead of writing about the goverment all the time, they would write songs about girls and love too. In the beginning it was nothing but screaming over melodic and almost metal music. The song in the that video is a mixture of the emo and metal. Alot of bands are doing this. Especially around where i live. Although i don't really like it the original emo or metal (I like the guitar playing and drums but i like to be able to tell what they are saying), I like what else has come from emo. The bands with the melodic and metal like music with soft non-screaming lyrics. The sh*t you hear today like Dashboard Confessionals and whoever else they are calling emo, are not emo. That came from somewhere else. Basically don't listen to what mtv is calling emo. Its bullsh*t.

This has been a history lesson in music. Brought to you by KId CaPri. OUTy

Oh and the karate came from grindcore and hardcore. Its the latest dancing fad that has been going around for the last few years. I mean its been around longer than that but it has really caught on for some reason. Im suprised nobody was doing no handed cartwheels.

A mixture of emo and metal is screamo/hardcore - the music in that video is hardcore :1:

Hardcore was created from emo music. It is the mixture of emo and metal (trust me I've read various books on hardcore music that explained how it came about). When it first came about, hardcore music sounded nothing like what you hear now. There were no double base pedals and crazy ass breakdowns. But it evolved into that.

Screamo is just a really gay word that some noob made up the first time he heard hardcore music coming from a bunch of emo guys. Nothing is screamo its either emo or hardcore. So please don't use that word.

Hardcore was created from emo music.

Is emo really that old? thought it was some 21st century bullsh*t. That's what MTV want you to believe anyway (god I hate MTV). In the words of Jack Black; "There used to be a way to stick it to The Man. It was called rock n' roll, but guess what, oh no, The Man ruined that too, with a little something called MTV!!"

I don't like what I've heard in the emo field.. all mushy faygits.. So yeah, I'll have an order of triple bass pedal and some severed vocal chords plz. :20:

I whould seriously like to see them homos try that karate sh*t at some of the show I go to, I dont go into the pit myself, and I find it pretty pointless..but go to an amon amarth show, or kreator....and watch the bodies fly, over the bars, into walls, bloody corpses on the ground...reminds me of a failed T rush by garage...hehe.
