an Athlon XP is better imo that sh*t.... thats based at the broke ass mofo who cant spair the extra 10 dollars....

Slightly old topic, but I'll post anyways. There are several Semprons, and all but one of them sucks. The s754 Sempron 3100+ is actually...well, it's actually pretty sweet. Runs many games faster than most P4's (which suprised me...) and overclocks great.

If you can afford it though, definately go with Athlon 64, which is getting pretty cheap (you can pick an Socket 754 Athlon 64 3000+ for under $150 at www.newegg.com)
