It comes out to so much more money, man!! And not even close to being as good as what you can build yourself.

I came to a final price of around $1950 (with approximate shipping and sh*t). Ive decided to go with a much better videocard, because im just lazy like that and i dont want to upgrade it for some time. I mean, thats pretty much what i need my computer for... videogames and sh*t. Ill just use the on-board sound chip on the motherboard. Im sure itll suit me fine - ive decided to wait with the 5.1 setup, since ill probably be moving soon. The power-hungry card forced me to look up a more powerful and, consequently, more expensive PSU (I dont know whether its good or not, so let me know). And, yes, i know, there is no need for the 512mb card at the moment, but there will soon be, so what the hell. I probably wont be able to make this much money in just 2 short months, but ill get it by the summer. Hopefully, some time in may. The motherboard and RAM, i think, are fine. I wont be overclocking or doing any other craziness on my computer, so i think i dont need any faster hardware. Im assuming this comp will do just fine for some time. Ill look into external HDDs, because that sh*t is just way too convinient!! And i might look at some other cases, but i like Snipr's and Sob's case :weee:

AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200+ - $357
MSI k8n SKT 939 nvidia nForce4 SLI Motherboard - $104
ATI Radeon X1900XTX 512mb PCI - $650 :muaha:
Thermaltake Silent Pure Power 680W Power Supply - $150
2gb pc3200 OCZ gamer memory - $164
250GB SATA-II Wd hd - $104 or an external HDD (depends what i find)
Western Digital Raptor 36.7GB HDD - $104 (OS HDD)
NEC DVD-R, RW drive 16x - $40
Lite-on Black Combo (DVD/ CD-RW) Drive - $30
Thermaltake Soprano VB1000SWS Silver Computer Case With Side Panel Window $80
Saitek Black Wired Eclipse Keyboard - $50 (not sure yet, Grr, opinions?? :dork: )
Logitech MX518 Optical Mouse - $40

Anyway, now i gotta make all that money :20:

Aziz: Me thinks that you will be VERY happy with that system. Similar to my rig, but a little bit faster. Mine hauls ass, and that rig will haul even more ass. If you need a hand slappin it together let me know. Im sure there are plenty of people here that will give you a hand, but the offer is on the table......

Pumper: the 1600 sucks

since you want agp, your options are limited. i'd go with a 6800GS agp card but maybe the x800 might be better pricewise.

From what I've read the Ati X800GTOII has the same GPU/mem as the x850xt. Not sure if that one does, but is real cheap if you can get a x850xt for $155.

So, is the 7800gt better then Ati X800GTOII or x850xt? How come is it a $100 more expensive? Im still going with ATI Radeon X1900XTX 512mb, im just wondering.

7800gt is better than all ATI cards except for x1800xt, and 1900xt and xtx, x1900xtx is way too expensive, in my opinion. Of that pricetag, $200 or so, is going to the fact that you have the fastest card you can get, NOT performance. I did see a x1800xt for $350 a/r somewhere (which i may get) I don't see myself paying more than that for a videocard. Putting $300 towards a faster processor and/or better cooling to get more horsepower out of your CPU will probably get better performance graphics-wise than a $650 videocard compared to a $350 card.
