Mkay.
I know some sh*t about computers, but not as much as i want.
My birthday is coming up in a couple of months, so im thinking of getting a new computer.
Ive been playing around, building computers for the last few hours.
I want an amd. good gaming machine. im willing to spend some money, but not too much. Preferrably, not over 2000$.

I was wondering if theres a place i can build a comp for less than 2000, maybe 1500$.
I built an amd last night. It came out to 2300$... there were some parts im unsure about, and, plus, im not sure if the price is reasonable. To me, of course, it seems like a large, and a pretty fat sum of money.. so tell me what you guys think, and send me some links if you find anything.

Thanks.

For sure, if someone can hook you up with distributor prices.. You should be able to save some money on that..

I dunno if I'd go too overboard on the video cards right now too.. The dx10 cards should be just around the corner.

You see, i dont know much about computers, and since i dont specialize in them, i dont spend any of my time reading up on the subject either. So just look up something that will be really good, will able to run any game that will come out this year, but wont be too expensive... sounds like i was born in a fairytale :weee:

i doubt you need 2 video cards and 2 gigs of ram take that to 1 of each and you just saved about $400. and on another note your only getting 1 optical drive i would go with two but, you could always pull an old one out of your old cpu and it should work fine. i think with some reasonable modifications you should be able to have that machine at around 1600 easy

Hm, id rather spend a little less. It all depends how much money ill have. If ill have money, ill spend 2000$.. But of course if i can find something similar for less, i will go with that; who wouldnt?!
Yes, Billy, im taking a dvd r/rw from my old computer.

Well unfortunately it uses cookies for the one I built.. just go here

http://www.alienware...all_gaming.aspx

and start with the Aurora Series and build it as you see fit.

Edit: Sorry I picked the Aurora 5500 the first time. But the 3500 SLi looks cool too.

ok i just built one identical to yours with 1 gig ram and a 7800 GTX for $1937.00 but if you replace the 7800 with a 6800 GS (which is still good) it is only $1660. i don't know, whatever you want

How does AMD compare to Intel.
I know it is better for gaming than Intel.
But, for example, if you have an AMD Athlon 65 3500+, what would that be in Intel "terms", if you know what i mean...
