Well im running the latest version of firefox and IE7 as my web browswer and recently ive been having problems with both, for example whenever I goto the a website and click on the a different section, it says the page has failed to load and if I click refresh it loads normaly, and I also discovered most pictures wont load. The problem occurs mainly if im at a site like www.myspace.com and switch to www.profile.myspace.com i get the page unable to load error and is easily fixed with a refresh. Its been happening for 2 days now nonstop and its really bothering me it always does it and never once loaded normaly so it cant be the site because it happens on numerous sites also. And with AIM instant messanger it says error unable to find conection then if I click login again, it goes normaly.

Anyone got any ideas on what could be causing the problem?

Thanks

My internet connection has been doing that too recently. Try unplugging your cable or dsl modem and leaving it for a minute then plugging it back in. That resets it. Like I said mine has been doing it too. But when I reset the modem it fixes it for a while. Every couple of days it does it though. Where do you live?

That sounds like it would get annoying. I try to set all my saved internet files to a minimum amt on my harddrive to prevent some wierd sh*t like that happening.. b/c that used to happen to me way back in the day. Idk why but it did that, but it was that time of the year to reformat so yeah.. try changing ur saved space and do what was afformentioned. else.. REFORMAT!!!!

First off Myspace is the slowest website ever. Too many people using it. To figure out if it is your isp problem or software issue, run ping.exe to an address on the Road runner network.

EX: At the DOS prompt type:

ping speedtest.whichever RR division you are in.rr.com -t

This will ping a server on RRs backbone. You should see that latency is very low and have next to no packet loss at all. If you do have packet loss, call RR and b*tch at them. If not then fix your computer.

If myspace is being really slow it's NOT an isp issue. Your ISP can only control sh*t on their network. If myspace.com has way too much traffic and is running slow as hell its THEIR fault.

When you access a website, you go through a bunch of different servers, all of which can cause a problem.

I think the problem is either lies between the keyboard and the chair or, you have an id10T error.

I work in the highest level of support that RR has, come try and choke me I dare ya.

I tryed running ping, a window just opened and in one second it closed out, its not just myspace, its EVERY single site I go on and I doubt that its a coicendence. Im planning on calling road runner and telling them to kiss my dick because this service is ridiculous, It constantly has problems, constantly goes down etc.

Road runner can officialy suck me off lol

This may be too simple but do you have a pop up blocker or a program like SecretMaker because if you set your settings at too high of a protection level, it blocks all kinds of cookies and images, which is what seems to be the problem.

Becuase Obviously you are going to the sites but they are not fully downloading. It might be as simple as you are are blocking them and need to turn SecretMaker or whatever program down or off. Same thing happens to me when i turn them to high.

Do you let windows just update itself without giving the okay to start the downloads. I know awhile ago there was a problem with IE and its images that it tried to do an update to. That might be the it otherwise, reformat. It's always good to reformat evey once in awhile to start a new with nothing. It makes you feel like you have a new computer :9: .

Other then that you are screwed and who knows.

Yeah MS f*cked up something with activeX. Morans. Run spybot if you don't. Wether you download sh*t or not, stuf magically installs itself if you aren't carefull and can cause a problem like this. If all else fails, reinstall as stated above. Reinstalling only takes a few hours and Ive found is much better than getting frustrated and f*cking something else up.

I also got my money back for this month from road runner for my problems with them.

AOL high speed works on the same connection (modem) as RR does dumbass. Unless you are talking about using dialup, in that case you are even more of a dumbass.

If AOL works and FF/IE doesn't, its a software problem.

I have Cox cable in georgia and its doing the same sh*t. Most of the time on any web page I try to load it says could not connect or whatever. I refresh and its fine. In counterstrike I will have random freezing from losing connection and then it will start up again. Its not a problem with my computer because in other games its fine and it has never done this before. Its definately f*ckin gay. But I'm not about to cancel my 5 mb connection because of this. I'll just have to wait it out.
