The good news is that 6 out of my 9 installed extensions work, the ones that don't are:

gtafcode (Post as IMG, post as URL, etc...for IPB-based forums)
SearchPluginHacks (Nothing much, don't worry about it, it doesn't concern you)
Fasterfox (Eh...didn't help me THAT much)

Anyway it's sexy and I really think you should get it!

Fasterfox (Eh...didn't help me THAT much)

Just do it manually.

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

i edited the install file of fasterfox so its install on 2.0 (its actually a zip file renamed to xpi extension). its not an official patch as you know. though i installed and using it now without problem, it doesn't mean it is compatible with 2.0. So use it at your own discretion and risk.

Anyone who doesn't trust the file i attached, you can do it yourself. it is not that hard. just download the extension, rename it to a zip file, change version information in the install file, zip it back then rename it back to xpi file. you are done. just install it now.

edit: I couldn't attach the xpi file for security reasons. so you will have to unzip and use the xpi file.

well i tried this and it made things a lot slower, with tons of pictures and components that won't load. Hitting refresh a couple of times gets it right eventually. My service is 5megs so I dunno why it doesn't work for me. Am I the only one?

Probably. booo

This isn't because of the new version, but Firefox doesn't load animated images for some reason can't seem to figure out why...

Topic updated and pinned.

As for Mike, I don't know why but you may want to check Firefox (privacy) settings. If they load in IE, they should load in Firefox as well.
