How could a guy with otherwise good taste insist on Intel? Did you pick the other parts?

Nice rig. I like the new core 2 duos, they are pretty fast. That rig should get a pretty nice OC on it too, 3ghz is very feasible on stock volts, and probably much higher. I should have a rig up and running for myself in a few weeks, my motherboard I got on Friday is dead, so time to RMA.

I've been a fan of AMD for a long time, but they just don't have the best proc right now. Top of the line right now is a quad core Intel. AMD will come out with an equal / better product sometime soon, but right now Intel wears the crown.

the 'new' amd 4x4 will have two sockets....i hardly think that that will beat intel...it will close the gap, but it will take more time than you think...

nobody really takes advantage of these new techs anyway. AMD is more efficient and you usually get more for your money. Intel Generally just doesn't innovate as much.

fanboys at their best....and nvidia does have the best card out there ATM, not arguable Chris. And by the time r600 rools out nvidia will have the mainstream cards ready....the one im planning to get....brand preference over performance? its your choice anyways.

Yes, Shadow has talked me into ATi. Purely because every hardware or software recommendation from him has proved to be correct. I used to favor Intels. Then he (and pretty much everyone else in BoSS) explained how sh*tty they are. Better CPU/GPU architecture ftw!
