Linkage
Put in motherboard, then socket 939, then the model. It will list all the cpus that the board supports.
The Thermaltake cpu fan is loud, and doesnt cool the best. It probably wouldnt be better than the stock fan. Look for reviews on google, I bet there are some out there.
EDIT: If you cant figure out that link above, heres one for the A8N-E Linkage

Your mobo supports opterons
Skt 940 boards are gonna need ECC, not yours
The opty is the same HTT as the 4000+
Thermalright>Zalman>stock
Zalmans look pretty, but the new ones are getting a little loud (much to my disapointment. I <3 the one I had on my sktA)
*edit* Right now I'd probably get a Thermalright ultra 120, Tuniq Tower, or Scythe infinity before gettting a zalman.

^ that's the 120mm version of hte zalman I had. It's pretty good. Not great temps, but the 92mm version was quiet at least. PITA to get dust out of...

^Thermalright SI-128 and Ultra-120. Both very solid.

^ Tuniq Tower, arguably the best tower cooler on the market. hard to find in stock

^ Scythe Infinity. Very kickass.
Most zalman users I see these days are getting

or

I think the AM2 version is sexier and it also works on 939... Maybe it's just me, though.

^cheap, good cooler. Since you're on a budget I would strongly consider it. I think it would do better than the zalman you posted.
