Yeah even with this new sh*t I can't step up to SoB or Shlonky or Shadow or a lot of people on this forum...but still, at least I'll know that (once I get this cable modem next week) I won't be able to blame anything like lag or low fps or poor mouse tracking ($15 all black Corepad that takes up half the desk) or anything but myself for getting killed in CS:S or BF2. Which I don't know is exactly a good thing.

Oh and BTW, if you want to see what I have to deal with in BF2, do the following:

1. Start downloading a torrent file and don't cap your upload so you have similar lag to me
2. Put your internet setting in BF2 to 256kbps
3. Put all video settings to low including textures and play at 800x600
4. Be lucky if you get 15 fps while walking driving around a full server and 30 fps when flying. (Type Renderer.DrawFPS 1 in console)

Get a faster internet connection. The computer dosent have alot to do with lag.

Like I said...when I get the cable modem. You have to read the whole post. Not just the interesting parts.

But yeah, I have a wireless router and the shared modem is in the basement.

When I was running my 6600gt with decent sets (slightly above normal), I didn't have ANY problems at all. The video card chris is picking up will be more than enough to get a decent amount of FPS.

You are on wireless? Theres your problem. Ive got a nice 100ft ethernet cable here i could give you. Make your parents really mad and start drilling holes in the wall and run a cable.

I'm with Drizzle on this one. I ran a 100ft cable through my house instead of going wireless. More secure, more stable, and faster.
