last i heard Jon Stewart was going to pay the writers for the daily show and the colbert report out of his own pocket if they kept working.

this doesnt surprise me...give some rich f*ck money to write good sh*t they get greedy and want more. Good entertainment gets ruined this way! =P i hear they are finishing up Heroes early this season cuz of this.

The writers really are getting screwed though. They don't see much from the sales of DVDs and they don't get shit from the profit of downloaded shows.
That's what they're striking for.
