You want to add a search bar to your website, and someone told you to download a FTP program?????? I advise to ignore said person and laugh at them the next time you see them.
As far as adding a search bar to a website, I know diddly about doing websites, but I do know that filezilla is definitely not anything near what you are trying to achieve.

Basically it will create a search engine using Google but it only searches your site, it will give you code and you can put it in your site wherever, IMO DIV layers are the best to put things in your site but whatever you use should work.
Also with your site, just a few tips, you should fill in the meta data where it's missing, also get a favicon and you should define a DOCTYPE.
And it looks like you're using JavaScript for the navagation, it works but you can do it more efficiently in CSS.
