Hey guys i was reading about the custom crosshair size and was curious if anybody knows any good custom crosshair colors. The default colors suck and i'd like to figure something better out thanks

i agree with you id like a much deeper red crosshair

I use a light blue color... works wonders everywhere except when you need to shoot someone who has a skybox behind him I always lose my crosshair and die. Deep red would be nice, just not too dark.

I usually used to use red/orange but you better change that if you are going to play a texture map

the thing i find is the colors tend to do good on one map but not on another


i use aqua for d2 but red for office, green on d1 ,, gets so tiring changing it lol

id just like a more opaque color thats less effected by the backgrounds

sorry guys i guess i was more asking if there was a way to change the colors more than the default ones in options kinda like the custom crosshair size. Would be nice to fiddle with it and see if i can find something i like. Thanks

There is definately a way - If people can mod the skins, they can sure as hell change the crosshair colors... No f#@$in clue how though...

I myself usually just change between random ones kind of as a change of pace type thing XD I usually end up going with the green 1 though, there's not a whole lot of bright green textures in CS so it works fairly well. Look through your CS files and find one that looks like it could be the crosshair file and change it. I'd love to be able to aim with like a black guy's head or something, lol

Or maybe change it to the covenant X aimers from halo, that might actually be kinda cool

After some quick googlin' I found this FPSBanana tutorial on making a -custom crosshair-, which I assume includes changing the colors of it.

cl_crosshaircolor ? Color of crosshair. 0=green, 1=red, 2=blue, 3=yellow, 4=skyblue Default: 0
or maybe this cl_crosshairusealpha ? Make crosshair translucent against similar colors. Default: 0
