+1 I own two g5's personally, one for my desktop and one for my laptop, and love 'em.

I am a slave to the logitech corp.

Not a fan of razer products, go with the G9 if you want to drop the cash, about $90 i believe. G5 is $50, i want one.

which logitech did you have? Was it similar to a G5 in size? If thats too big for you then look into the Razer mouses. They are smaller, light and you use them more with your fingertips than your whole hand.

It all depends on your playing style though. I used to use a Logitech Mx700(Same size as G5) and I switched to a Razer Copperhead and it improved my play a good amount. I prefer a smaller mouse.

I would try and test any mouse your going to by because everyone is different.

It's all preference. Go to a store and see how each one feels. Personally didn't like how the G5 was setup and bougth the razer diamondback. Go try them out in any retail electronic store and buy one online to save $$$

Own a G5 and havnt had much of a problem with it. Personally, i think Razer products are a bit over priced, but they've definatley got their small advantages so if you have the cash to blow, go for a Razer.

I decided not to go with the popular companies ex. Logitech, Razer, (i never go with them, creepy bastards manage to rip you off somehow) instead i went for a a4tech x-750f. I got the glossy one cause it was cheap 30.00$ its kinda sweaty and sh*t, but you can get the other one that isnt glossy it should be fine, There are many dpi settings to choose from as apposed to the logitech where there is only 3. Mine there is 600, 800, 1200, 1600, 2000, 2500.

Wireless mice are bad for gaming so don't go that route, but get a nice wired gaming mouse (I use the MX518, G5 is good too) and a gaming mouse pad and you'll be set.

speaking of mouse pads, i have the thermaltake gamma, its a good pad, but after many months of use it has worn down a little bit, so its really smooth now. It isnt only a good mouse pad, it is also illuminated, 8 different colors. But 1 of the blue l.e.ds are not as bright as the other, so 1 of the corners are always a different color when the blue light is used. It is discontinued now, but there is a similar one replacing it now. I picked up mine for 30$can

Yeah, I had the same Max Payne mouse pad for 7 years... The thing got so worn in one spot that even my LASER mouse couldn't track on it. So I tossed it out... Now my desk is my mouse pad.

ya, the feet on my mouse wear also, but they give you extras, so no issue. The only thing that i dont like with this mouse pads hard surface is if some dust and sh*t falls on on the pad, the mouse moves like crap, so u got to keep it clean, and sometimes if you move your mouse you hear like this scraping sound, sounds like you dropped pebbles on the pad.
