New Hardware I added to my PC
ATI MSI 4850 (Upgraded from a 7600GS) - $167 after rebate + The Witcher
4GB (2x 2gb) G.Skill Ram DDR2 800 (Upgraded from 2gb 533mhz) - $84
Antec Neopower 650W (Upgraded from sh*tty 300W psu) - $92
I originally bought the 9800gtx but my comp isn't a chubby chaser so I got a refund.
Its only a bit better than the 4850 but twice the size and $40-50 more.
If you guys want to get a new video card and are on a tight budget get the 4850 or 9800gtx (only if your case is big enough, don't underestimate). BTW, 9600gt < 8800gt
Question: Should I install Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit? Hassle? I currently run on XP Pro 32bit. I got the Vista installation disc free.
Here is my review:
ATI 4850
Pros: Very nice card, plays almost all the new games on the highest settings with good fps. The card is cheap, only requires one slot, and performs well.
Cons: Fan is a little loud and at first it idled at 83 degrees. I later changed the fan speed to 48% and it idles at 60-65 degrees.
The Witcher:
Pros: Free
Cons: Gay ass RPG, I would rather play Runescape
G.Skill 4GB Ram
Pros: Fast
Cons: None
Antec 650W psu
Pros: Quiet, easy to install, comes with a lot of extras, 650w
Cons: None
