Just to clear this up, I have no past experience with any monitor beside my old sh*tty dell CRT.

I'm looking for a new monitor that would be good for gaming. I don't want to spend a lot, but I'm not going to spend money on something that will have burnt pixels within a month, that is if i decide to by an LCD. My question is what is better for gaming, LCD or CRT. I've heard CRT's are better but I'd like advice from people that are more knowledgeable.

Stay away from that Hanns-G monitor, I have had HORRIBLE experiences with those.

Out of 14 I ordered last year, I had to return 8 of them for failure to power on. Lasted the first few months okay, then they had trouble powering on then ceased to power on at all.

Granted you might have a good experience but I am now staying away from Hanns-G monitors.

I would go with the Acer.

i've had no problems with the hanns-g monitors i've purchased. I have a 19' and 28' monitor made by them.

I'm running on my ole 17" Sampo Alphascan 712 (with a convex screen)...

Haha, I had this monitor for my old Pentium II 500mhz rig. It still runs OK, but I dare not change the resolution on it cause it will flip the fuck out and I'll have to manually tune it again :>.<:
You could say that I am in the market for a new monitor as well.

May get a good one, but as someone who buys ALOT of computer parts I stay away from the manufacturers that can potentially give me more hassle than it's worth, you may have the patience to do a single RMA, but when you have alot of customers and they start pestering you every day about a problem you would do the same.

I honestly think that anything over 22" is way too big.. meh eyes start to hurt....I personally like a 19" the best. Heh i remember I the last screen I had before this one was a 17" huge regular block of a monitor... damn thing weighed so much it broke my computer desk.
