Pretty nice specs for the price. Any other notebook in this pricerange has a Geforce Go 8600 or ATI Radeon 2600, also not as much ram or as powerful processor


Also for 800$ after instant rebate = good

Hm, if someone offered you a used (yet perfectly working, appeared like new) iPod (or MP3 player) for $100 less than the purchase price, you'd take it provided you had the money.

Refurbished in gateway's terminology is machines that are still brand new, but have been returned and/or have had a non-crucial part replaced such as a harddrive, memory, etc. They cannot legally sell them as brand new anymore since it's been opened and used. So therefore it is refurbished.



Then we have the 'gateway reconditioned' these are notebooks that have had whole LCD's replaced, motherboards replaced, entire case/chassis replaced etc. drastic things.



Refurbished can fall under the category of someone not getting it to boot up once and returns it, gateway gets it and it works just fine, they resell as refurbished.




I have purchased many hundreds of gateway refurbished items and only had a handful come back with problems. So please, if you havent bought a refurbished gateway machine you cannot comment about how it's a refurbished model when you have absolutely no idea what it means.

Currently unavailable though, they get shipments of these in limited quantities. If you see a nice deal like this do not hesitate, you go ahead and buy it.


Another helpful tip using tigerdirect. If you add something to your cart it takes it off their inventory. If an order isn't placed, it gets readded to their inventory after an hour or so. Little tidbit I found talking to my personal customer service rep on tiger business
