I've no fucking idea how to approach this.

If someone wants to donate, go ahead. Personally, I don't play TF2 anymore.

How is the current one hosted now (on the server box or from a company?)?
Is this server to replace the existing or compliment it?
Would it be easier to upgrade to the next server above the current one used?
Could we get a server slightly smaller then the current one used?
If we did get the server how much more a month would each admin have to pay?
Does everyone agree to pay a little more for another server if needed?
Can we possibly scrap Server 4 or 5 if they still exist for the new TF2 server?
When does this have to happen (in a few weeks or a few months)?

Might help a little.

well where it stands, Ive killed Deathmatch, gungame, and the TF2 server has been offline for a while, the good majority of these died due to inactivity, that's the main thing I'm curious of, Granted I think its going to be a community choice on what we actually want, I was just thinking TF2 but whatever works.

ofc I'm keeping office and dust2 as is, maybe down the road I'll swap dust2 to something else if it remains gimped / empty but yeah I doubt we'll change anything / upgrade anything due to scalability / bandwidth usage.

not exactly sure which route I'm going with this, but I think it'd be easier to rent a server via some stupid company then buy a whole separate box on a whim.

Perhaps get a smaller slot server for d2, and make it 100 tic? That may attract more players, but it's definitely more money, and perhaps not worth it.

Also, when there are no players in the server, we could add bots that get kicked when users join (but they still show up as players). Make sense?

I don't even see that much activity on the d2 server, TBH. Office we still get a sh*t load of people.

I only play tf2 so if theres a server ill try to be there.

That's actually sort of what I was thinking. D2 gets no people at all, maybe 3v3 every 3 days.

Also the server is in Chicago so it should be good pings for East and West Coast...

not trying to bump an old topic here but i jumped in the tf2 server today to see how my ping is and for some reason i was choppy as hell warping around. i checked my rates and my ping was like 30-40ish. i tried a few other servers to see if it might have been my game acting ghey but i ran fine elsewhere.

is there anyone here that plays alot of tf2? i finally got it like 2 weeks ago but cant find any good servers.

I play a lot of TF2. Just search some servers. There are a lot of good US servers in TF2 that play a lot of good maps.

Two problems.

1) The server is messed up like it was said you do this stutter teleport thing on the server, it's not client side.

2) We never have a group to jump on all at once to get it started. Because no one wants to sit in an empty server and hope people join.
