Hey all, i have a question for the more techie people in boss. This may be a noob question but although i love to use my computer, and know the essentials of it, i don't know a whole lot. So here's my question.

Can a macbook run Counter strike source well enough so that it doesn't lag like a b*tch?

I am really into concept art and if you don't know what that is it is basically the lay out for all the movies, video games, and maybe some of the tv shows you watch. I really want a macbook because it is perfect for what i want, yet i still want to play cs:s (that is the only game i really play). So whoever knows the answer please tell me. Thanks a ton.

On higher end models yes. But it requires dual booting, I have tried it on OSX, and I encountered some issues and it was only solved by dual booting into windows XP or Vista.

Can it play it? Yeah it probably can play it. Is the screen small a problem and will it not be ideal conditions? Yes.

If you are REALLY into playing CSS you might want to consider either one of the newly announced Macbooks or a Macbook Pro. I wouldnt suggest trying to run it on one of the older white books.

So basically it comes down to budget and size requirements. If you need to have a 13", buy a Macbook. If you have the money buy one of the newer ones, the newer nVidia onboard GPU's are better. If you dont care about size and KNOW you want to play games look at the MBP. To save some money look at a refubed MBP on Apples website. I purchased my Macbook refurbed and it was perfect. The only thing you miss out on is how well engineered the packaging and boxes are.

Dell laptop with Windows Vista x64 (because all Adobe products are available for that as well, in fact Adobe CS4 is ONLY available in 64-bit for Windows)

Otherwise you'll be wasting money.

From reports I have seen the new Macbook (aluminum) seems to run CSS and other games no problem. Just a bit of an update for ya.

yes it'll run it without problems according to the specs...

but idk if this has changed since the summer... but during the summer i played CS:S on a mac and there were countless problems because the game isnt really compatible with the OS...

if you want to play it you're going to need to use da old bootcamp
