How do you get this console thing to open, I try the classic Shift+` button but it doesnt open? Is this a problem? Or am I just pressing the wrong buttons

add -console to the Windowx shortcut for launching CS:S.

the console automatically launches when using gamespy or xfire but does not by just going to counter strike.

So how exacltly am I supposed to do that? I only have a Steam launch icon, where do I go after that?

go to options in the game, then keyboard, advanced options and select the "allow console" or whatever it says, then push the ~
