I have a folder of digital pictures I took when I went on vacation and they are like 2937103 x 2121321 and 3 mb each. I want them all like 800x600 and 1mb max and I don't want to edit them one by one.

Resize 2.7
You could give this a shot, it looks fairly simple and straightforward. Something that you could understand.
Or you could try this one from microsoft, which adds a right click>resize option, even simpler!
ImageResize

It's simple too, open the actions window and create a new action. Then hit record and alter one of the photos to how you need it, resize it, lower the DPI and such and hit stop. Then got to file>automate>batch and choose the file fold, destination and your recorded action. It's nice as you can even create a naming system to rename all the files, lastweekparty001.jpg, ""002.jpg, etc.

Thanks a bunch for the info. Helped me a lot at my internship, instead of having to get the OS updated to work with the resizing program I used that. Yay for not having to spam resizing, changing resolution and then switching it to RGB!Photoshop! Batch processes and actions are your friend.
