Broadband Owned

So in my endless pursuit of internet I have tried the following:
1. T-Mobile broadband card, those little cards that connect into the cellphone networks to give internet. While I am in the 3G access area, it was prone to frequent dropouts, and absolutely horrid transfer speeds during peak hours. Which happened to be right when i get home from work and right to the point I go to sleep. So, I dropped that, as it blew dick. It worked for browsing the net, and it had decent ping for online gaming, just the dropouts and speed issues make it less desireable.
2. Wireless Direct Line of Sight DSL internet, uses a direction antenna pointed towards a central tower and you get your internet. Friend of mine runs this and it was very playable, 50-60ms ping, even during rainy weather. Unfortunately, I was a 1/2 mile out of the service range :(
3. Regular DSL, out of range from the central office by about a mile :(
Which left me to my final option which is what I'm using right now. ISDN, old, but it beats dialup. Unfortunately I'm getting random dropouts that my ISP said will get fixed. Ping times are kinda horrible, for obvious reasons.
Argh! :D

On a brighter note, most of us have been on those fun non-cable providers lol.
-Good luck with resolving it.

TWC guy i know openly told me we are throttled because I pay extra for phone and tv, so my internet is the "sh*ttier version" what kinda bullsh*t is that?
We have 3 HD boxes, and pay for all 3 services(which suck anyway) and they stick me with the sh*t internet connection.
oh, btw....my ACTUALL download speed are ALWAYS 175 kpbs. Never changes. thats the max. regardless of torrents or not. That's just what I get.
