I know avg and avast offer free options that are legitimate, but all i ever hear people talk about here is kaspersky as being the best av. is there a free option, do you have to pirate it? a brief howto would be excellent

It's actually fairly cheap if you spot coupons or reseller deals, like a 2 year license for 30$ and so on, you just need to look around.

There is an internet security version, but it doesn't do much beyond the antivirus.

There are 2 reasons why people buy Kaspersky:

1. Its' such a pain in the ass to pirate, keys get blocked a day after they're posted

2. It's so damn cheap and f*cking amazing
