What is up f*ckers? Well i've returned from bootcamp. Reason I'm back so early is due to finding out that the tarsal bones in each of my ankles are abnormally set (possibly hereditary) to the point where i can't wear leather boots...and because i can't wear the militarys footwear, i can't be in the military (Medical discharge ftl). So now im back to gaming with all you f*ckers and attempting to get through college...yippee.

Anyways, as promised, I'll send in a donation to BoSS...and I'm curious if i've missed anything. W7 is out and looking decent but due to my desire to play a few ancient games and not wanting to buy a second computer just to run XP, i still havn't committed to it. Curious when the DX11 GPU's are going to come out...anyone know? And has Komit checked back in yet?...judging from when he left, he should have graduated by now...

Navy told me I had knee damage... went to college for a year and a half.. asked the army about my knees. I was shipped off to basic a week later. Those damn doctors do that sh*t to protect themselves and as far as your ankles causing boot issues... is bull sh*t. They make many different kinds of boots speicfically the hot weather ones in which are very easy on the ankles. Plus the navy are retarded when it comes to medical crap. (no offense to any of you navy people.. if any) Sorry they pissed me off when I tried to join the military, became a grunt instead of some navy puke. Go ask the army.. ull get a $30,000 and be gone in a week.. :P

bumble

oh and if you really did get a full medical discharge.. then I hope you like the civilian life.. :P

Didn't get a 'full medical'...supposedly meaning that i wont ever be able to join a military again?...Yeah, the doctor supposedly did me a 'favor' and instead of doing what he usual did, he allowed me to return after surgery and 12+ months. Not sure if that surgery is a requirement cuz im fairly certain that the only surgery to fix it would involve inserting a lovely metal rod into the ankle that will prevent me from ever running again...which will auto disqualify me anyways.

...And no i wasnt having shin splints. It kinda created a depressionary blister (good inch in diameter, and at least a 1/2inch into my foot) after the first 2 weeks of wearing boots, and a week after that the ankle itself started getting sore to the point where i was limping a bit. But realize, this is all with no meds, no moleskin on the inside of the boot, not wearing double socks, any of that sh*t. I was getting along fine and went to a doc just to get some moleskin and ibuprofen to quiet the pain down a bit - he told me to go see the podiatrist, who gave me the bad news in under 30 seconds.

And thats what i dont get...i was going into the nuke field, the most wanted field in the Navy, and what the Navy needs most...hell, Nukes are needed more than SEALs atm. And could they just fashion me with a diff. boot, or an insole, or some pain meds just to get me through bootcamp? f*ck no...so f*ck them, i guess.

Edit: As far as the DX11...yeah, f*ck my nforce mobo. Any news on when Nvidia's* gonna get its sh*t together and release their DX11's?

Whats ironic to me is the navy wanted me to be a nuclear engineer. Then they told me my knees were jacked up... which was bull sh*t (somewhat). In the two year break before joining the army I discovered that yes, I could still run and do physcially demanding things however I had to really pay attention to my knees just like your ankles. I had to get better shoes and "learn" when not to run and exercise. Basically my cartilidge in my knees starts to inflame after so much running and can prevent my damn knee from working right! If I were you Id invest in some dammmmn good running shoes, also a good thing about the army is the boots have become far far better since the old black boots we used to wear. One of the things you need to pay attention to is when you get them fitted. DONT listen to the retards giving the boots out. Make sure you get boots with enough room, that was my first mistake in basic training and I paid for it for those 9 weeks. Most likely they will give you a set of hot and cold weather boots. I currently wear Altma hot weather boots and have had them for two years and they are by far the best ive ever worn. For one thing, especially for you the area around the ankle is a very light synthetic materical. There is no pressure on the ankle at all and it allows alot of movement. I did have to get some different insoles but after that they are like wearing sneakers. The second most inportant thing... is socks. A lot of people dont believe that socks make a difference but my god yes they do. I have cut about 30 to 40 seconds off my run time for the army due to buying some expensive running socks. Plus you feet do not hurt at all after running. Same for my boots. You cant beat good wool socks. Also never double up the socks, it doesnt work, in fact it puts more pressure on the ankles and foot in general reducing blood flow. You can hurt yourself doing that sh*t. My advice to you is to exercise with some good shoes, figure out how much you can run or march before getting uber sore or what not and if you can manage the pain if you have any, then deal with it. Ill never forget the last week of basic training. We did our 15k march which is not a hard thing to do and my knee was so inflamed I couldnt bend it at all hardly. I kept on and didnt quit and I finished.. last mother f*cker to cross the finish line. Since then ive already maxed my pt test and keep a damn good pt score and NEVER have issues with knees or feet because I have learned my tolerances. Im sorry for the WALL of text but I hope my advice is helpful.

Oh.. and the military will give you 800mg's of IBproufin reguardless of whats wrong with you, so dont make a big deal out of something unless you litteraly tear a tendon or some sh*t! hahah..
