So i f*ckin hate EA. Anyone else ever try to use the online store provided by EA? Any 'happy memories'? I doubt it... So EA - the terrible f*ckin corp. Yes, one of there lovely little children is Bioware which i consider probably the best developer out there nowadays (since so many others have pissed me off recently); you may hate RPG's and thus not care about Bioware, but you gotta admit they've released some quality games recently. But anyways...I'm interested in their most recent creation, Dragon Age: Origins. I pre-ordered it at my local gamestop, f*cked around with the 'demo' (a character creator, nothing more) a little bit, and everything was jolly until i found out a day before the release that there was a collectors edition. Now i generally dont buy into the bullsh*t that is 'collectors editions' but DA:O's was a mere $10 more and it didnt contain any bullsh*t (life-size reproduction of a helmet, a special edition digital clock, etc.)...soundtrack, editors notes, etc. So i got all excited, called up Gamestop, and they said they couldnt reserve me a copy (or upgrade the reservation i already made) because they were only scheduled to receive a very few CA's and ordering any more was apparently f*ckin impossible. So i freak out a bit until i wander onto the EA stores site and realize that they have the CA...in stock...which surprised the hell outa me (if they have it in stock, why not send enough out to the retailers?) but i quickly pre-ordered a copy and of course was immediately notified that i was billed. About an hour later, i received an email from EA as a standard summary of my order. With this email came a url for me to go check my recent orders and the progress of said orders through the EA Store. I of course immediately check out this link and the EA store doesnt show anything under my recent orders. I think this odd but it didnt concern me much so i went about my business, went to Gamestop to cancel my pre-order, and everything seemed fine.

Next day (24 hours later) I wake up and go through the same routine, get on my computer to check up on all my orders (new internal hard drive comin from newegg, new cheapo W7Pro comin from the microsoft store, and Dragon Age comin from EA) and they're all moving along just fine except EA. First, it was a hassle (and continues to be) to even access my account on EA.com because for whatever reason i have to reset my password each and everytime. So i got to 'I forgot my password', they send me a email with a link to reset it; doesnt matter if i retype the same password that i know it to be or a completely different one...it will still not work next time i try to log in. And they auto-log me off constantly, so I'm averaging the resetting of my pass about 6 times a day. So i get myself logged in, check my order history, and nothings there...still. So i go into the support section for the store and there is no community, no forums...just some sh*tty answers to generalized questions that dont concern my problem in the least. So i try to send the support staff an email - or chat...and im presented with another log in...a different log in. So since im completely clueless as to what this is, i give them my email and get sent a username and pass that i aparently made a while ago and try to use it and, even though the login info is apparently correct, it doesnt work since im constantly blocked by a "secure connection failed" window...apparently EA doesn't have secured connections through there Support url? Anyways, i somehow got around this the first day...sent to emails to their reps (which had promises of replys within 24 hours) and chatted with a EA Support rep who was surprised that my shipment hadn't showed up yet...it was apparently still in processing...but he assured me that it would be shipped soon. So i keep resetting my password through the day to keep checking if its showed up and no luck.

2nd day (48 hours later) (where im at now) So i keep checking the purchase history (all the while resetting my password) only to find no evidence of the order. I also can't get to my support account; I managed to once earlier today but my emails had not been replied to and after waiting in a 25 min que for the chat service, i was informed that my chat was canceled because there were apparently no support staff available. I would not care that much about the secured connection (even though i probably should) but since it probably wouldnt do me any good, i dont see the point in making an exception in a pointless case. UPDATE: Just now (@9pm est) I was able to uncover a phone number i could call...waited on hold for about 20 min for a EA support rep who gave me all the lovely insight into my order. It is still being processed and should be shipped tomorrow...probably in the afternoon...so its likely going to take almost 72 hours to fully process this order. Granted, i would imagine the EA store is relatively small time when compared to the likes of Newegg and when presented with a large game released, they may get a little backed up but this still seems f*ckin ridiculous to me. Not to mention that there online support is f*cked all to hell. And i did tell him about all my troubles online...i think i heard him chuckle. *sigh* ...to tired to care atm.

...words cannot describe the disappointment...at least i have the whole weekend now to f*ck around souly with my W7 upgrade... :malace: ...holy f*ck i wrote alot.

In summary, preordering games fail, unless you buy it off steam, or you just buy it in the store the day it comes out.

There, saved someone the massive brain tumor that is sure to develop from reading the wall o' text.

you know what bothers me about Dragonage? well, aside from it's quite large size for an RPG, and the fact that I liked the original Baldur's Gate series which had multiplayer, I get around to installing it, 15 gigs fully installed, awesome... I'm thinking it has loads of content and possibly a great story.

a 15gb game, with NO multiplayer? even the originals in the series both had multiplayer, this is like a boring version of Neverwinter Nights with a slightly better camera and improved character control.

honestly I could never see myself buying this game even though I liked the originals in the series and most games that Bioware released.

I got the game, love it, however mine is bugging the f*ck out with the 2 DLC (they just wont work),
the thing about EA, i've been hearing nothing but problems from their website, so you are def not the only one.
