Hi guys, I am becoming a frequent player on your server and I have noticed it has ran smoothly every time I go on it. I do know that it is a 100tick server but my question is, who is your provider (such as Gameservers, csservers, etc.)? I used to run a server before my old clan, Bless the Bullet (BtB), disbanded and part of the old clan reformed together as Addicted Gamers (-AG-) 1.5 years later. I never really got a smooth running server up. Atm I do not have money to run a server but for future reference, may I ask who is your provider?

We rent dedicated servers from honelive.com due to their deals on webhostingtalk. you want to know how to run a smooth server that never lags unless you're specifically doing something on the box? Don't ever buy from a gameserver Host, EVER, and now I will give you the reasons as to why.

<rant>

Say you're a gameserver host, like clanservers or whatever, what you do is buy dedicated servers from a company that resells them, or you co-locate your own servers in a datacenter, either way it's costing you money, sometimes upto 500per month, per dedicated server that meets all the specs you need to host your servers (bandwidth, cpu cycles, ram, storage, and so on).

lets just put things simply, your server costs 400 per month to upkeep (bandwidth isn't cheap), you put clients servers on it, say you're hosting five 24 slot servers at $2 per slot with 100tick/1000FPS, 5x24slots=120 total slots thus far, so you're making 240 per month, that isn't covering the box cost, so now you need to put more clients on the box and hope that all their servers don't fill up at the same time, well, it just so happens that when you added more servers, the performance started to drop even more and now customers are complaining about lag (you're selling more slots then your server can handle, overselling is the word for it).

sadly, all Gameserver Hosts do this, I used to run a company that did server hosting for people for a few years and honestly, with competitive pricing its very cut-throat, so all you can do is drop your prices and host more, in the hopes that the servers clients buy stay empty, if they take up a lot of CPU cycles do to being full, you're gonna need to move them to an empty box or cancel their service so your other clients don't notice it.
