I've actually been playing the original lately when I could and my internet wasn't sucking, sure the single player was lackluster and the net coding sucked, but damn the game play is fun. FPS + RTS = win in my book.

But, for those who want less fail netcoding and have Unreal Tournament 3, people have been working on a mod for it.

there are some videos, you can download it and play it on UT3. I've always loved the game. It's really fun to have a real battlefield feeling kinda game yet with the fun RTS elements like harvesting credits (which are done automatically, but the mod allows for players to buy personal harvesters), buying tanks, repairing and destroying buildings, etc. It's really fun, check it out.
