CoD has turned into exactly why I don't play console games, regardless of how amusing a trailer will be, the core of Activision is rotten and all they want is money.

no thanks, on top of my normal only buy multiplayer games rule (where I do break if the product is exceptional such as torchlight), I think developer support for a product is even more important and the tune now is that people get ignored, there is no point to buying EA/Activision games at this point when it will be obsolete in 6-10 months.

Wont be getting it. I refuse to buy games that I have to pay a seasonal fee to play. Sorry developers, stop releasing paid "optional, but not really optional" DLCs every few months and I may consider buying the game.

Tired of buying a game and a DLC comes out with new maps/modes/whatever and, choosing not to buy it, getting kicked out of games and such because I don't have the DLC. Basically DLC in FPS games is a ransom. "Buy this map pack or have your online game play experience suffer!"

Fuck that shit.

Because when the new map packs and DLC gets released noone wants to play the old sh*t anymore. So you either have to buy it or play with reduced number of people.

Also with such close proximity of releases to 'full' games, they arent even new games, they are just expansions for the most part with single player tacked on for good measure to lure in the guy who just buys game for the singleplayer experience.

So my reserve unit calls me up and asks me to take one of our hummers up to a game stop to assist a recruiter. So drove one up to town (not fun goin 70 in one of those on the interstate...) and we set up so all the people going to buy the game saw the army recruiter. I got a bunch of free coffee and sh*t but dear god you should have seen all of the suppppper nerds that showed up. One of them had a ton of braces and freaked out when he saw a humvee... (they are rough, nothing awesome about them) So yah it was intresting to say the least to see the people coming for that game... and no sh*t, there was 200+ people in line for that game.

Best part.. i get the game for free.

Yes, you are. And on average a DLC for new maps on CoD Games come out every 3-4 months on the initial release year. And unless you want to be kicked out of match making or be limited to what modes you can play, then you have to buy the DLCs. Essentially making it a seasonal pay to play game.

That was the whole reason that Infinity Ward wanted to take away dedicated servers. A lot less people will pay for DLCs when they can just stick to servers that play the default maps, a small map set or one map. Thus making them less likely to buy the DLCs.

The DLCs create a hindrance on your game play, giving you incentive to buy the DLC.

Singleplayer was meh, multiplayer sucks. Zombie mode is alright, good thing my friend likes sending me gift games through steam ;) had some enjoyment out of playing that mode. Strange appeal to playing as Richard Nixon and shooting zombies :P

I've played a little bit of multiplayer and seems like every other CoD game that has been released in the past couple of years.

I haven't had a chance to play Campaign but the Zombie mode is f*cking fun. Mystery Chest FTW!
