would anyone recomend any other programs? i have all these bc of a bad virus i had a year ago and every program found a different thing. i also have nortons anti virus, nortons firewall, and spysweeper.
anyone want to tell me why firefox is better than ie? i just dont get why something by microsoft would be vulnerable to more.

Hey Derek,
These are some of the windows apps that I use:
Mozilla Firefox & Thunderbird
Norton SystemWorks (2003 or 2004...)
Lavasoft Adaware
Windows XP network firewall (behind a router)
Adobe CS
Macromedia Studio MX for various web stuff
Nero for burning (alcohol for burning xbox games)
DVD XCOPY for burning DVD movies
Microsoft Office
Adobe Acrobat (included in photoshop, but also seperate)
Winamp for internet radio
Apple quicktime player for .mov files
Some sweet codec pack for movies (can't remember the name)
flash FXP for FTPing
DC++ & Kazaa lite for downloading P2P stuff
Also, firefox is more secure, customizable, has tabs, has popup blocker.
There are a f*ckload of extensions and themes available for firefox that make it a totally different browser.
Thunderbird email is a decent program as well, but I haven't found it a lot different than outlook express... probably more secure.

The only way to clear and prevent is to format your drive
Once you format your drive and re-install, open internet explorer, download firefox and never use IE again.
ive been spyware free for over a year, no popups, nothing.
If you can get your hands on Norton AV Corporate, it's the best thing on the market. You cant buy it in stores but all the major corporations use it. Im sure you can find it somewhere to download.
If you use a file sharing program you will get spyware.

Bit torrent has it's fair share of problems too. Ever tried to dl a torrent with few seeders. Or get the message bad tracker, error conecting to tracker. Ever start a dl and connect to 100 peers and still only get 6 kb/s dl because they are all selfish with bandwidth.. Every program has it's pros and conns, I find myself usuing limewire more and more often for everything else and bt for movies.
