i wanna back up my harddrive. i want somthing like you can back up and make recovery disks? anythign like that out there that anyone knows about? help would be apprieciated! :grin:

I'm not overly familiar with backup software, but I think Norton Ghost can do what you are looking for. There may be other free open source alternatives out there as well, Ghost isn't too too expensive, that is if you actually buy it.

yea but then you have to do a full install of everything and that takes alot of time that i dont wanna do. thats why im looking for somthign like that. i have been doing what you said for a while except with cds.

I looked and it looks like Ghost does the hard drive imaging.. so does this one (again not free, but I have no more time to look now)

I norton ghosted for a while. Backing up a whole drive is a pain. I back up only what's necessary and burn them to dvd. No need for the other crap. Waste of time.

haha, if you noticed you can save practically a boot disk/registry save on a floppy by right clicking your hard drive clicking tools then backup now.

Also dvd works but I prefer a secondary hard disk...just easier as storage
