Okay how is it that an uneducated thug like fity cent could have 4. 4! hits on the top ten list. What has American come to? Why do white kids like rap so much?

i like 50 cent. some rap, i agree, is overrated. I only like the type of rap that has a story to it, a melody.. style.

this is a weird argument for me....b/c i like some rap a little, but i hate rappers for the most part....i like rap beats, but i hate the fact that people call it music when it takes absolutely no musical ability to A. Rap and B. Make music on a computer. real music involves acquired skills like playing instruments, and being able to voice match to the music. i prefer to use the term 'rap artist' like they do in the media cuz it makes more sense. sometimes rappers are poetic (Common, Mos Def, etc.) but for the most part I dont wanna hear abt how you got shot, and that you had a sh*tty childhood, and that you like to f*ck madd b*tches while drinking your 40 and smoking yer blunt...........great. join the club. you are the general population. and everyone can do that. i think that hip hop took a terrible turn somewhere.....i say bring back Rakim, Public Enemy and the OG's of rap.

I agree with you Pizzack, the old school stuff is pretty sweet. I hate what rap/hip-hop culture has become today as well. I mean back in the day with The Fugees etc was good sh*t. The only ones true to the theme today (that I know of) are scandinavian hip-hoppers I don't listen to any rap anymore though. Death Metal all the way

I myself like rap I dont care if its some mainstream rap or political poet rap if it sounds good Ill listen to it like most types of music.

i agree. It also takes no skill to do a concert and there a total ripoff. Many rappers 'rap' at shows in the same monotone sound with a bunch of other people yelling random words into the mic. A lot of times it doesnt even sound like the original song..Altough I do mainly lean towards metal, there is a little rap a like, like Mos Def as you said and Nas.
