i downloaded lost coast and it wont launch. it never notified me about i dont meet requirements. but i dl it. restarted. i click on it, it loads. then the menu goes away. and never comes up. it says hl2 is running in task manager. do i need the disk to play? or is steam having technical problems right now like when ever the release something? anyways is anyone else having this problem or know why i cant launch it? bc my firewall says allow for hl2 lost coast. it now says when i click on it again, "unavailable, please try again another time."

that's funny, any steam game (prior to the steam update and lost coast install) I couldn't get cs:s nor hl2 working and it did the same exact thing you mentioned. After the update, everything is all good. I don't know how to fix your problem except to read the steam forums. The steam update did it for me, good luck

ok it worked and i beat it. restarted twice. i was hoping i wouldnt have to re do it in safe mode like i had to for fear. admin can close this.
