Go with SATA or SATA 2 hard drive(s). Don't put obsolete IDE drives in a sweet rig man.

loooks good. the 7800 is a lot better than the 1800. sucks for ATI, ATI has always been better or atleast theyve been at close competition. looks nice.

first of all whats a static wrist...whatever?

second of all, with a sweet card and processor, id get a nice monitor to get the best effect. maybe a nice 19-21 inch crt which will get you 1600 res or 2050 res. that would be around 200 bucks like mine which was 170

or get the same but flat lcd, but that would be like 400 bucks

keyboard, mouse, speakers?

the wrist strap is to not zap any parts while installing... and who needs a keyboard and mouse anyways.. you can play cs:s without them anyways... just use your MIND! :wtf:

Nice processor but for that amount of money, I'd rather buy an opteron 165. It's the one of the most desireable cpus. Great and cheap way to get an FX57 by overclocking it plus your talking about a dual core chip with more l2 cache.

Also, switch the sony dual layer drive for an NEC 3540a. Much better drive, cleaner burns and it'll save you 20 bucks to put towards something else

hmmm... kinda pricey.. on black friday i got a 19'' lcd for $180 :).. but still even for a regular price thats a little expensive... try looking around the websites of the stores like bestbuy, compusa, circut city and stores like that... heres a much cheaper monitor: i dont know about the stats of the monitor.. never really cared.. but they dont seem to differ that much.. or maybe they do.. i dont know :wtf: Monitor

newegg tends to have expensive monitors. try tigerdirect.com i got mine for 170 bucks. the same one at new egg was over 300. look for this...

19-21 inches
lcd
max resolution get atleast 1600x1200 or 2050x1600 since your vid card will now support that
recommended resolution no lower than 1600x1200
and find one thats 8ms

the one in yours is 1280x10124 and 6ms, that should be less that 150

so yeah get those specs and it will be about the same price with the holiday offers and all tiger direct has
