man if you banned my ip i would just refresh my ip and get a new one and be back in like 30mins. it bans by steam id. yes you can buy a new game but most ppl don't spend the money to do that

not everybody has static ip. people who has dyna ip can reconnect their modem and have a new ip. steamid is way to go i think. unless there is another way i don't know, they have to pay to get a new steam id.

If somebody has a Dynamic IP, it isnt hard, for example.
Your IP is 65.12.220.***, say next time you connect to the net it's 65.12.220.*** or whatever, Ill just do a ban with wildcards on it.

yeah, an ip range would work well. you might be banning other people in same area too. but most of the time it worths.
