Ok, so here's the deal. I have windows installed now(however I cant activate it :tired: ) with my new hard drive. Now when I start my computer it runs fine for a bit. Even when I first start it up though I notice little dots on my screen, almost like very small dead pixel spots, however I know it has to do with the system. The longer I stay on my computer the worst it gets, and eventually all hell breaks loose. The dots multiply which appears to me to be a serious system failure, then I get an error message saying theres problems with windows, something about the registry files, however I cant read it fast enough before I turn off my computer before it explodes and takes out half of New York.

This lets me believe that my problem was more than just a hard drive problem right from the get go.

Overheating? CPU problem? Motherboard problem?

Anyone know what it could be?

i would guess motherboard since it occurs on start up. the dots on the screen could be a problem with hte monitor or a failure to load the image, but broken pixels? laptop...? could be more than one problem, or video. its not bc its overheating now, if it was, it could be because it overheated and damaged something a while back.

now how to fix it, hopefully someone else can tell ya.

miss ya blooms :wtf:

I'm 100% positive its not my monitor and I would be more than suprised if it was my actual video card.

Its like the system is slowly failing until finally it hits that overload spot, which it seems its almost at right now.

sweet my computers crashing :weee:

:whatever:

hopefully ill be back soon

Just order a new motherboard and install it. Even if that wasn't the problem, you got a new motherboard. Dead pixel like dots showing up on your screen and its not your monitor doing it. That sounds like either a problem with your video card or the slot on your motherboard. Does your video card require a plug from the power supply? I guess it could be that also. Hope you get it fixed.

Sounds like something is overheating. Take your videocard out and clean all the dust and sh*t out of the heatsink. Same with the HSF on your cpu.
