Well it seems Sony has finally released more information about the Playstation3. Their unofficial release date as of now is worldwide in November 2006.

Live: "[Kutaragi] claims that games have gone from 8-bit to 16-bit planes, to the "space" that you saw on the PS1/PS2, and now PS3 will be "live"."

Online: With the system launch, a new online feature will be included. This online has lobby matching and voice chat, and the ability to boot software off the hard drive.

Hard-drive: Its also been confirmed that the PS3 will use a hard-drive. Its 60GB and Sony is unsure if it will included in the box.

Dev-kits: Sony is shipping out its development kits in June.

Blue-Ray: All new PS3 Disks will be shipped on Blue-ray to prevent privacy. Users will still be able to view DVD's and play PS2 games however.


Well this is interesting to me because I think PS3 might be the only next-gen console I buy(pending on the software for the revolution, I know theres no chance in hell im buying XBOX360). Hopefully more information and maybe some god damn games are on the way

Heh, unless I win the lotto I won't be getting a ps3, sh*t is getting to expensive to own multi consoles anymore. Specially with the expected $450-500 price tag. Hell, if you don't count tips that's a months pay for me. Depending on the weather that is. Not to mention the $60-70 price tag per game.

But most of all, the health hazzard that controller poses to people like me. When I get really mad at a game, I throw the controller. The last thing I need is that thing boomeranging back at me slicing my head off.

HAHA that's funny as hell. The PS3 is going to be pretty f*cking amazing with the kind of hardware that powers it. I may actually get one depending on how cool the games are for it and what it can actually do. If it does all the media type sh*t that Sony says its gonna be able to do i may end up getting one. Would be really cool to serve media off my pc and play it through a console. Only time will tell. I also think that it is going to be a lot cheaper than Sony currently says its gonna be.

If they can get the price down to $400 or, unboutably in time, it will get there, then I'll get one. Yeah, it looks amazing, but they need to get the games to back it up. I wasn't a fan of any of the games they showed so far.

I like playstion games, so I probably buy one after a year later of its release.

I will most likely be buying it. When? All depends on the price of the console and my financial condition in that period.

no question i will be dropping a big fat G to insure i get the Ps3 and all the best stuff possible to go with it (second controller, hdmi cable, hard drive, all the release games, etc.). as of now i have nothing can fully uses the 1080i capibility of my 30' widescreen HD sony tv... November....WTF....
