Well, seeing as summer is comming, I'm graduating high school in a little over a month, my birthday is Saturday, and I have some saved up cash. I was looking into a tablet PC for college and for graphic design.

I was wondering, does anyone know of a decent company to go with, or any ones they've heard good about?

It needs some decent spec because photoshop can be a memory wh*re at times. And I'm looking to spend around $1500. Something along the lines of ...

1.73 - 2.0 GHz processor
1Gig of RAM
Prefferably a 14.1" screen
A standard drive that reads DVD and CDs is all that is needed, no real need for a DVD Burner.

If it has an option of a removable cd drive to add an extra battery that would be nice also.

I've been looking around and have a vague idea of what's decent. But like always, a collective pool of information is always better.

I have a Wacom 6x8 tablet right now. (Had it for almost a year, and love it.)

I considered just a simple laptop for college, and just using my tablet with it on the go. But, that would be a little difficult, and would basically defeat the mobility of a laptop. Making it an easier to move graphic design PC. Considering my tablet is about as large volume wise as a laptop.

Tablet PCs are pretty decent when it comes to drawing on them, giving you the more fluid feeling of actually drawing on a surface, instead of on a tablet and looking up on the screen to see what your doing. And also, offering more portability.

While tablets, are a little more precise, it's nothing that you can't overcompensate for after practicing with a Tablet PC. That, and they are not as portible friendly.

I'm not only getting this for graphic design, sure that's the main reason I'm getting a Tablet PC, but it's also going to be used for college.
